Another manic Black Friday full of fights, trampled shoppers and injuries. Gotta love the great deals and competive natures of people trying to capitalize on them. Ah well, I guess thats something this country should be proud of; a good fight and even better prices. I just feel bad for the employees that open the doors of the stores that get trashed. I wonder if they get some kind of hazard pay or temporary bump in medical benefits? Maybe just time and a half and a coupon for a free therapy session.
What this world needs instead of all that drama is a new holiday. Forget all the amazing sales and remember all the things that we have in our lives already. Maybe gather around with our loved ones, friends and family alike. We could cook a meal and break bread with the important people that remind us of what’s really important. We can eat, drink, joke and laugh looking back on the things we should be thankful for. Yeah, that’s it; we could all gather and tell everyone around us what we’re thankful for and hear about what others hold dear. Some sort of giving, of thanks. We could have this holiday instead of Black Friday or maybe a day before so that we could remember who we would have become the day after; had It not been for this holiday that would make us more appreciative. I’ll get with my people and try to work something out. What to call it though? Any ideas?
