I guess there’s a flip side to every coin and two sides to every story but some things are pretty cut and dry. If you say something and preach to the world about certain principles and actions, then you should hold yourself to that standard. I always look back to when I was a kid about these things and remember it was evident even then that there were hypocrites everywhere. It’s sad to say that it was mostly all of the adults who were trying to teach us how to live right and doing the wrong thing right in front of us drawing out the inevitable question of “why don’t you have to…” or “I thought you said…”. Then, just like clockwork came the inevitable “do as I say, not as I do”. If you were ever a kid and I’m almost positive that you were at one point or another, then you know as well as I do how frustrating that is. At the time I thought that was just something I had to deal with while I was a kid as some sort of twisted mass hazing plan in the world. Boy was I ever wrong. What makes people think they’re so special and wise that they know what’s better for me in my life than I do. To top things off, they’re doing the same thing that they just told me not to like they’re somehow entitled by greatness. Oh what a world we live in. If something is so basic that even a kid knows its wrong, then why is it so hard for others to understand? Maybe it’s like they said all along and they really do know better. Yeah, I don’t buy it ;and when it comes to hypocrisy, I don’t think you do either. Take a long look in the mirror and ask yourself how you would measure up to the standards you set for everyone around you. If you don’t make the mark then time to do some thinking. Like they say when you’re a kid, “you can talk the talk but can you walk the walk”.
