Alcohol has been the beginning of the best and worst times of my life…right? I would like to say it was the key ingredient but that’s kind of a weak excuse for the bad times and an insult to the memory of the good times. We make the choices we might not have made if we weren’t drinking but that’s only because our inhibitions are lowered, not because something made us. There are many different types of drunks, but I feel like that is because there are so many different types of people. As with all people, there are the extremes of what people do under any circumstances, to include being under the influence of anything. I’ve heard that sober thoughts become drunken words and think that there is an element of truth to it. We are the people we chose to be is only partially true, with that comes a very real amount of work and commitment to your principles. We have to stay true and live the life of who we are, everyday, or we are training ourselves to be a different person. Things get easier over time because we normalize them by accepting them and without a want to change, are effectively embracing them. In the end, your true spirit will always come through in everything you do so its a good idea to do what you know is right. When you have a few adult beverages to relax and enjoy the night, be the kind of person you would want to hang around with if you were sober. Cheers the good times and be happy. What do you think? What kind of person have you become to really let your spirit shine?
