After all of the events in your life, how many are on such a rare level that entire generations will come and go before it happens again. When I look at things like a super-moon, astroid or planet alignments, it always seems just that much more surreal. Knowing that something is rare or few and far between makes it that much more valuable. I suppose this is a kind of lateral translation of supply and demand but with certain experiences, rarity in reference to a span of time adds far more value to me. With this same mindset, I’ve been able to cherish the moments in life that I know don’t come so easily. Laughing with friends, talking on a plastic phone that a toddler gives you, listening to a street performer that catches your ear…the list goes on and on. I had to retrain myself to recognize that there is room in my life for different sets of priorities and a good balance of everything layered together is what brings me happiness without regret. What are the things you cherish now, you wish you could go back and tell yourself to slow down, be present and live these moments to the fullest?
