I am absolutely amazed at the talent this world has. It is no less than astonishing how someone can create such beautiful art that seems to transcend the barriers of what you would think impossible. You ask any artist what their inspiration is or best techniques are and you will get tons of different answers. We can chase this dream of creating something to the point that knowing what the end product will be, completely overwhelms what you’re doing in the moment. Every piece of art is accomplished by one action at a time, be it, a stroke of a brush, chip of a stone, bead of a weld or letter of a word. It’s our ability to rationalize our vision and bring it to fruition that makes us an artist or professional at everything that we do. Taking a step back from a situation lets us take a look at the whole but experience allows us to see the big picture, while we focus on the immediate task right in front of us. This allows our actions to achieve what we envision to have purpose beyond just a movement. When we do this, we take ourselves from being able to visualize and conceptualize, to execution. Do you take the problems in your life and deconstruct them? Do you know where the starting point is and why it’s the starting point in the first place? How often do you focus on the immediate task at hand when the big picture items are hanging over your head? Do you allow yourself to see the big picture beyond what you’re doing so you can keep sight of the direction and end state?
