Looking at how young we are in comparison to other animal’s life spans and weighing that against how much longer we live than others makes me wonder what kinds of motivations these animals have. Are they genetically programed to live life at a certain speed or pace to correlate with their lives? Are we? Being self-aware and knowing our years for the prime of our physical and mental lives gives us a step up in terms of planning. The only problem with that is, we always know better than everyone else when we are young enough to utilize the advice people give us. It’s an age old question. Can you imagine where I would be, if I knew then what I know now. All of the mistakes we made because we hadn’t learned the lessons the hard way yet. The skills or moves we would have made if we new what the right step was. One thing I will say without a doubt, humans are insulated against their failures more than any other creature on this planet and things still live longer than us. We need to find a better way to educate the youth into making the right moves so they don’t burn out or never take the next step. With the information of the world at our fingertips, we need to shift out strategies on how to better prepare kids for when they are ready to face the world as adults. What do you think? What should be taught in schools? What would you have done different?
