Am I the only one that creates their own character backstory for their animals? Like complete character development and assignment of life goals. There is a voice and certain literacy that comes along with it. Malum is a streetwise cat that would otherwise wear a cape and speak with a posh British accent from the old world. He glares at people and twists his mustache as the inner monologue of world domination is on a continuous loop. Bidding his time, he has formed a complicated alliance with his best friend and, at times of snacking and eating, rival…Elsa. Elsa, a chonky wiener dog that is probably the most scared and attention hungry dog you could meet, not only tolerates but looks out for Malum at all times. They are in cahoots with each other in the tossing of food off the counter and sharing the stolen wealth. When I tell other people, its very obvious that there is a personality and backstory to their animals as well. Why is it that we seek out human characteristics and personalities with our animals? What drives us to have this imaginary persona that we can relate to? Is this relatable or am I completely off my rocker? Do your pets have their own human voice when you think about them talking? What’s their story?
