If anything is true in this world its that you need to look out for yourself. Yes, there are good people out there and its safe to say you’re doing well with a good support system, friends and family but you need to look out for number one at all times. Reality is a harsh place and the real world is a cruel and grueling place. The majority of people in any first world country are doing tremendously better than people across the globe living off of our food budget for the month, for their entire year. Can you put yourself in a headspace where you’re only goal for the day is to try and get at least one meal in or happy to have a glass of dirty water. When is the last time you had to beg or rustle through trash to survive? Take it a step further and imagine having to steal or rob for your family to not thrive but barely survive. It’s easy to take the high road of what you would do if you were in certain situations but its all a wash if you’ve never lived it. Having seen the poverty around the world where some people have to walk miles a day to wash their clothes and hike back water or have never owned a pair of shoes, puts a different perspective on life. First world problems are a leak in the plumbing or getting the electricity shut off for a week. Try not having any running water or electricity in the entire village. The world is full of people that know how to survive and we have every opportunity to thrive but chose to complain about the work needed to do it. What do you think? Do you live in a cutthroat world with a living situation that makes you work to survive each day? Do you take the blessings you have for granted or did you earn every single luxury of the living situation you were born into? If you ask me, anyone born in a first world county hit the lottery already.
