It gets harder to know that some things get easier to process. Certain events should never start to normalize in someone’s life. Being in the military, there are things that you understand and dangers you accept when you’re deployed. There is a real chance that you could never make it back alive but when the troops get home, they don’t need to lose the battle with themselves. Getting the news of another one of ours lost by their own hand, adding to the already too long list is never easy to hear. Why is it so hard for us to see the struggle that so many people are going through? Why is the taboo on mental health so bad that people are afraid of asking for help. The road back from the dark places our mind takes us may look impossible to travel at times but it is absolutely worth it. Ask for help if you need it! Give the help if you know someone else does!
